
The funds raised from the 3rd annual Kokua Festival will be used to further support and expand the school recycling program on Oahu, sponsor field trips and curriculum development, as well as to introduce an exciting new farm to school program in Oahu public schools in the fall. The festival will include a booth village with local organic food and beverages, earth-friendly products and services from green companies, alternative energy demonstrations, interactive games and crafts for the kids, and countless environmentally active groups from around the islands.Īll proceeds go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting environmental education programs in Hawaii. Jack Johnson will be joined on stage by Willie and the Planetary Bandits, Ben Harper, Henry Kapono, Paula Fuga and the One Love ‘Ohana Band, and ALO. The Kokua Festival is a benefit for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by Jack and Kim Johnson that supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaii. He became one of about 480 people who played together during the Starbucks 37th Annual Ukulele Festival in an effort to set a Guinness world record for most ukulele playing a single song.
